    • A featured stop on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail because of the year round bird sighting opportunities
    • Current facility opened in year 1998, it was reconfigured with double sets of restrooms, enlarged parking, more picnic arbors and walking trails
    • Located in South Texas near the border to Mexico, the reconstructed facility derives its design relevance from the merger of the region's history and its two cultures. The broken perimeter wall of the "park" recalls the early Texas ranch and mission compounds, and the centrally clustered public amenity buildings frame a large "public" opening, re-creating a village scale similar to early towns along the Rio Grande in South Texas
